Don't judge a book by its cover. This is a famous English proverb in which I strongly believed. It is true to some extent. You can not really judge a book only by its cover. You need to read at least a few pages to see how the book is.
However, I've been to a new in-line-with belief: Not only you can not judge a book by its cover, but also you can not judge at all until you have not read the book to the end and even by reading several times.
Not judging by the cover and reading some pages of a book, does not necessarily reveal the nature of the book. You should be able to read between the lines, which is not always easy and possible.
Some writers are very smart to hide their thoughts beind their words. This is when you gotta be very careful.
I judged a book! I did not judge based on his cover. His cover was even very simple and was not attractive at all. At the first glance, I thought it would be a good book. Some parts seemed a bit vague to me. But, I kept reading because I felt like reading and I was enjoyig the book. I judged that he's a very nice, rare and precious book. I read and read till I reached almost to the end of the book. All of a sudden, I just recognized that this aint a special book and I was wrong judging pretty soon.
Now, I have left the book unread.
Be careful... You should be able to read between the lines.
If you can't, you should dare risk.
Good luck!
